Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, family-centered nursing care to pediatric patients on the Med/Surg unit
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
• Administer medications and treatments safely, monitoring patients for response and side effects
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, procedures, and discharge instructions
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and in a timely manner
• Advocate for the unique physical and emotional needs of pediatric patients
• Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and escalate concerns as appropriate

Qualifications

• Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• PALS certification preferred
• Previous Med/Surg or pediatric nursing experience strongly preferred
• A compassionate, patient-centered approach to care

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to connect with children, families, and team members
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple patients in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency with electronic health records and medication administration
• Understanding of pediatric growth, development, and family dynamics
