Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, days and nights (exact start/end times vary) — Med/Surg unit

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $47 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on the Med/Surg unit
Assess patient condition and implement individualized care plans
Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
Monitor and document patient progress, communicating changes promptly
Collaborate with physicians, therapists and the interdisciplinary team
Educate patients and families about diagnosis, treatment and discharge plans
Support efficient, safe patient throughput and transition of care
Participate in unit quality improvement and safety initiatives

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse license (Louisiana) or compact RN license as applicable
Med/Surg nursing experience preferred; new grads with Med/Surg clinical exposure encouraged to apply
BLS required; ACLS and other specialty certifications preferred
Current immunizations and ability to meet facility health requirements
Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking and communication skills

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Solid understanding of Med/Surg nursing principles and best practices
Proficiency with medication administration and IV therapy
Accurate clinical documentation and charting skills
Ability to prioritize care in a fast-paced inpatient setting
Teamwork, adaptability and patient advocacy mindset
