Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform continuous electronic fetal monitoring and accurately interpret tracings to support fetal well-being
• Provide direct labor and delivery care including support for spontaneous vaginal deliveries, TOLAC, cerclage management, and C-section assistance/circulation
• Place and manage fetal monitoring devices (IUPC, FSE, Toco, US) when competent
• Respond to obstetric emergencies using ACLS and NRP protocols and coordinate with the surgical team during C-sections
• Document care thoroughly and promptly in Meditech EMR to ensure continuity and quality
• Maintain assigned patient ratios (1:1 or 1:2) while delivering compassionate patient education and advocacy
• Adhere to unit policies, dress code, and attendance expectations while contributing to a positive team culture

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) credential in good standing
• Minimum 2+ years of nursing experience in Labor & Delivery
• EFM competency and internal monitor familiarity (IUPC, FSE, Toco, US)
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NRP certifications
• SVE competency and experience with C-section circulation
• Experience in a high-volume (Level IV) unit or prior HCA assignment preferred
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong electronic fetal monitoring interpretation skills
• Proficiency with fetal monitoring devices (IUPC, FSE, Toco, US)
• Hands-on experience in C-section assistance and surgical circulation
• Ability to work 1:1 and 1:2 patient ratios and prioritize care in a fast-paced unit
• Comfortable documenting and navigating Meditech EMR
• Team-oriented communication, positive attitude, and reliable attendance
