Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, comprehensive care to mothers and babies during labor, delivery, and postpartum
• Monitor fetal heart rates, contractions, and maternal vitals, responding quickly to any changes
• Assist during vaginal deliveries and C-sections, supporting the entire care team
• Educate new families on newborn care, breastfeeding, and recovery
• Document care accurately and communicate clearly with the healthcare team
• Advocate for patients and ensure a safe, positive birth experience

Qualifications

• Active and unencumbered RN license in Louisiana or a compact state
• BLS certification required (American Heart Association)
• NRP certification required
• Previous Labor and Delivery experience strongly preferred
• ACLS certification a plus
• Strong critical thinking and communication skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of maternal and fetal monitoring
• Ability to stay calm and focused in fast-paced situations
• Knowledge of neonatal resuscitation and emergency procedures
• Comfortable using electronic medical records (EMR)
• Excellent teamwork and patient advocacy skills
