Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, personalized care to patients during labor, delivery, and postpartum
• Monitor maternal and fetal vital signs and respond promptly to any changes
• Assist with deliveries, including C-sections, and support new parents
• Administer medications and IV therapy as ordered
• Educate patients and families on birthing processes, newborn care, and recovery
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure safe outcomes

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia or a compact state
• Minimum of 1-2 years of recent Labor and Delivery experience preferred
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
• Ability to adapt quickly to new environments and work independently

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong patient assessment and critical thinking skills
• Proficiency in fetal monitoring and interpretation
• Knowledge of labor and delivery procedures and protocols
• Excellent communication and patient education skills
• Ability to remain calm under pressure in emergency situations
