Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist cardiologists during diagnostic and interventional catheterization procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort
• Monitor and assess patients' vital signs and hemodynamic status throughout procedures, responding quickly to changes
• Administer medications and contrast agents as ordered, documenting patient responses accurately
• Provide pre-procedure education and post-procedure care, guiding patients through recovery with compassion
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional cardiac care and achieve optimal outcomes
• Maintain a sterile environment and ensure all equipment and supplies are ready for each case

Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Iowa or compact state
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications
• No minimum experience required - ideal for motivated RNs ready to specialize in cardiac care
• Ability to participate in on-call rotation and work variable end times
• Passion for providing high-quality, patient-centered care

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of cardiac anatomy and catheterization lab procedures
• Strong patient assessment and critical thinking skills
• Proficiency in sterile technique and infection control practices
• Comfort with monitoring hemodynamic data and interpreting arrhythmias
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with physicians and educate patients
• Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care
