Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive cardiac care for fresh open heart and mixed ICU patients in a 30-bed Cardiac ICU
• Monitor telemetry and interpret cardiac rhythms, responding quickly to changes in patient status
• Administer medications, manage ventilators, and support patients through critical recovery
• Collaborate with in-house hospitalists, intensivists, and the multidisciplinary team 24/7
• Triage and prioritize care for a 1:1 to 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Act as a resource for telemetry and med-surg units when floating

Qualifications

• Active California RN license, or willingness to obtain one
• 2+ years of recent Cardiac ICU experience
• Recent fresh open heart surgery experience is required
• Mixed ICU patient experience required
• Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Cerner EMR experience preferred
• Pass a proctored Dysrhythmia Test on day one

Knowledge & Skills

• Expert cardiac rhythm interpretation and dysrhythmia recognition
• Ventilator management and critical care monitoring
• Comfortable using GE monitors and Cerner EMR
• Strong clinical judgment in high-acuity situations
• Ability to float to telemetry and med-surg units as needed
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
