Medical Lab Tech

Location: Boise City, ID

Shift Type: Rotating nights, 8:30 PM - 7:00 AM, 7 on/7 off rotation (night)

Candidate Pay Rate: $73 - $51.1 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Perform clinical laboratory testing accurately and efficiently to deliver reliable patient results
Maintain and document quality control, following lab policies and regulatory requirements
Operate, calibrate, and care for laboratory instrumentation so tests run smoothly
Record and verify results with attention to detail and escalate critical values to clinical teams
Participate in proficiency testing, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement activities
Collaborate with colleagues across shifts to ensure seamless patient care during the 7 on/7 off rotation

Qualifications

MLT or MLS (ASCP) certification required
Comfortable and able to work night shifts and a 7 on/7 off rotation
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and patient safety
Basic computer literacy for laboratory information systems and result entry
Good communication skills and ability to work independently overnight

Education

Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field preferred
MLT/MLS (ASCP) certification is required

Knowledge & Skills

Clinical laboratory testing principles and best practices
Quality control and documentation in a regulated lab environment
Familiarity with common lab instrumentation and routine maintenance
Troubleshooting testing issues and escalating when needed
Time management and prioritization during busy night shifts
