Roles & Responsibilities
- Greet and triage patients with warmth and professionalism, creating a welcoming experience
- Obtain and record vital signs and basic health histories accurately
- Prepare exam rooms and assist providers during patient exams and procedures
- Collect specimens and perform routine point-of-care testing according to protocol
- Document clinical findings and patient interactions in the electronic health record clearly
- Coordinate scheduling, referrals, and basic insurance verifications to keep care moving
- Maintain infection control standards and ensure a safe clinical environment
- Participate in orientation and ongoing training to continuously improve skills
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Medical Assistant certification (CMA/RMA) preferred
- BLS/CPR certification required or must be obtained upon hire
- Previous clinical experience preferred but motivated new graduates are welcome
- Strong communication skills and a patient-centered attitude
- Ability to pass background checks and any required health screenings
- Comfortable using electronic health records and basic office software
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA) preferred
- BLS/CPR certification required or must be obtained on hire
Knowledge & Skills
- Taking and interpreting vital signs and basic clinical assessments
- Phlebotomy and proper specimen handling procedures
- Basic medication administration and point-of-care testing
- Accurate EHR documentation and workflow familiarity
- Scheduling, referral coordination, and insurance basics
- HIPAA compliance and infection prevention principles
