Roles & Responsibilities

• Support clinicians in an ambulatory clinic by preparing patients for exams and procedures
• Take and document vital signs, medical histories, and reason for visit with care and accuracy
• Collect specimens and perform routine point-of-care testing per clinic protocol
• Assist with injections and medication administration as directed and within scope
• Maintain orderly exam rooms and ensure infection control standards are met
• Accurately enter patient data and visit notes into the EHR to keep charts up to date
• Schedule follow-ups, coordinate referrals, and communicate clearly with patients
• Participate in orientation and training to ensure smooth onboarding

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Medical Assistant certificate or diploma preferred
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) is a plus
• Current BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Prior ambulatory/clinic experience preferred, but enthusiastic new grads are welcome
• Strong communication skills and a patient-centered attitude
• Ability to stand for clinical shifts and perform hands-on patient care tasks

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Medical Assistant certificate or diploma preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Comfortable taking vitals and performing routine clinical procedures
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems or quick to learn new software
• Good infection control and specimen handling practices
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Professional bedside manner and ability to reassure patients of all ages
• Team player who works well with nurses, providers, and front-desk staff
