Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead infection prevention efforts across the community hospital, ensuring safe care in the operating room and sterile processing areas
• Develop, implement and monitor infection control policies and procedures that keep patients and staff protected
• Conduct surveillance, data collection and trend analysis to identify and reduce infection risks
• Provide education and coaching to clinical teams on best practices, sterile technique and outbreak response
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to investigate incidents and implement corrective actions
• Support regulatory readiness and reporting related to hospital-wide infection control initiatives

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (state licensure required)
• Proven experience in Infection Control within a community hospital setting
• Hands-on experience with Operating Room and Sterile Processing workflows
• Certification in Infection Prevention (CIC) preferred or willingness to obtain
• Strong communication and collaboration skills; comfortable leading education and policy implementation

Education

• Active RN license required; ADN/BSN accepted (BSN preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Deep knowledge of infection prevention principles and sterile technique
• Familiarity with hospital-wide surveillance and reporting systems
• Ability to analyze infection data and translate findings into practical interventions
• Skilled at staff education, policy development and multidisciplinary collaboration
• Comfortable working in fast-paced surgical and sterile processing environments
