Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive primary care to patients across the lifespan, from newborns to geriatrics, following adopted clinical protocols
- Perform thorough patient assessments, develop treatment plans, and initiate or modify care with accountability and clinical judgment
- Collaborate closely with supervising physicians for consultation, referrals, and care coordination
- Document patient encounters, treatment decisions, and follow-up plans accurately in the medical record
- Educate patients and families on disease prevention, health maintenance, and treatment plans in a culturally sensitive manner
- Participate in quality improvement activities and ensure adherence to clinic protocols and regulatory requirements
Qualifications
- Current California RN or Nurse Practitioner license (Board of Registered Nursing)
- Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
- Current AHA BLS certification required
- AHA ACLS required if applying for inpatient privileges
- Current national certification (ANCC, AANP, PNCB, NCC for relevant specialty, or AAACN) as applicable
- Primary care clinic experience required
- Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred
Education
- Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of clinical protocols and primary care workflows
- Skilled in comprehensive patient assessment and treatment planning
- Comfortable caring for patients across the lifespan including pediatric and geriatric populations
- Ability to collaborate effectively with supervising physicians and multidisciplinary clinic staff
- Excellent communication skills, with bilingual ability a major plus
