Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform thorough dental cleanings and periodontal therapy to keep patients' smiles healthy
- Assess patients' oral health, review medical histories, and maintain accurate records
- Take and develop dental X-rays using proper techniques and safety measures
- Educate patients on effective brushing, flossing, and preventive care habits
- Support the dentist during procedures by preparing instruments and assisting chairside
- Apply fluoride treatments, sealants, and other preventive agents as needed
- Sterilize equipment and maintain a clean, infection-controlled treatment environment
- Collaborate with the dental team to create a welcoming and positive patient experience
Qualifications
- Active Dental Hygienist license in the state of Wisconsin in good standing
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Graduate of an accredited dental hygiene program
- Experience taking dental radiographs and providing patient education is a plus
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly, compassionate chairside manner
- New graduates are welcome to apply
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of dental prophylaxis, scaling, and root planing procedures
- Familiarity with dental instruments, digital X-ray equipment, and sterilization best practices
- Understanding of infection control and HIPAA compliance standards
- Skill in educating patients on preventive oral healthcare
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced dental practice
- Proficiency with dental practice management software
