Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide gentle, thorough dental cleanings and hygiene care to pediatric patients in a busy specialty practice
• Educate children and their families on proper oral hygiene techniques to build lifelong healthy habits
• Take and review dental x-rays to assess oral health and support the dentist in treatment planning
• Assist with preventive treatments like fluoride varnish and sealants in a fun, kid-friendly environment
• Maintain a clean, safe clinical space and follow all infection control and safety protocols
• Collaborate with the dental team to create a positive experience for every patient and parent

Qualifications

• Active Dental Hygienist license in Maryland (required)
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Experience working with pediatric patients is a big plus
• Familiarity with Denticon or similar dental practice management software
• A warm, patient, and encouraging chairside manner

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical dental hygiene skills, including scaling, root planing, and prophylaxis
• Knowledge of pediatric oral health and age-appropriate communication
• Comfort using digital x-rays and dental software
• Excellent interpersonal skills for working with children, parents, and the care team
• Attention to detail and commitment to infection control standards
