Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care to patients in a behavioral health unit
• Assist with daily living activities and monitor patient progress
• Work collaboratively with nurses and healthcare team to ensure patient safety
• Serve as a sitter on Med Surg unit when needed, ensuring patient safety
• Document patient observations and report changes in condition
• Support a therapeutic environment for patients with mental health needs

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification in the state of Hawaii
• BLS certification required (American Heart Association)
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a CNA preferred
• Experience in behavioral health or psychiatric setting preferred
• Must be compassionate, patient, and adaptable
• Ability to work various shifts including weekends

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of behavioral health patient care and safety protocols
• Skills in patient observation, documentation, and communication
• Ability to handle challenging behaviors with empathy and professionalism
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
• Flexibility to work in different units as needed
