Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant - Skilled Nursing Facility
Location: Laconia, NH
Start Date: 08-31-2026
Contract Type: Perm
Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, with rotating weekend shifts
Hours per Week: 40
Bill Rate: $28-$34/hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Implement occupational therapy treatment plans under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist to help patients regain independence
- Assist patients with therapeutic activities and exercises designed to improve motor skills, coordination, and daily living activities
- Document patient progress and adjust interventions in collaboration with the therapy team
- Educate patients and their families on therapeutic techniques and home exercise programs
- Work closely with a dedicated rehab team in a skilled nursing facility setting to provide compassionate care
- Participate in care planning meetings and contribute to patient-centered goals
Qualifications
- Active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) certification from NBCOT
- New Hampshire state licensure as an OTA (or ability to obtain before start)
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Experience in a skilled nursing or rehabilitation setting preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
Education
- Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of occupational therapy principles, techniques, and modalities
- Proficiency in documentation systems and medical record keeping
- Ability to adapt treatment activities to individual patient needs
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Compassionate and patient-focused approach to care
