Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, supporting daily living activities with dignity
Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding and mobility safely and respectfully
Take and record vital signs, monitor resident condition, and report changes promptly
Document care accurately and timely in resident records to ensure continuity
Collaborate with nursing team to follow care plans and safety protocols
Support a positive resident experience by engaging in conversation and encouraging participation in activities
Maintain infection control standards and comply with facility policies

Qualifications

Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license or certification (valid in Connecticut)
Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
Comfortable with hands-on resident care and safe lifting/transfer techniques
Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
Reliable, compassionate, and committed to resident-centered care

Education

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Completion of an approved CNA training program and state certification

Knowledge & Skills

Fundamentals of patient/resident care and activities of daily living (ADLs)
Vital signs measurement and basic clinical observations
Infection prevention and control practices
HIPAA and resident privacy principles
Safe transfer and mobility assistance techniques
Clear, respectful communication with residents, families, and staff
