Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living like bathing, dressing, and toileting
• Assist with safe transfers and mobility, promoting independence while ensuring safety
• Monitor and record vital signs and report any changes to the nursing team promptly
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care and resident observations
• Support a clean, safe environment by following infection control and safety protocols
• Communicate clearly and kindly with residents, families, and the care team to ensure coordinated care
• Participate in care planning and help implement individualized care goals

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (state-recognized)
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Strong interpersonal skills and a compassionate bedside manner
• Ability to follow care plans, document accurately, and work collaboratively with the nursing team
• Experience in long-term care or skilled nursing is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred; completion of an accredited CNA program required

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of activities of daily living (ADLs) and basic patient care
• Ability to take and record vital signs accurately
• Familiarity with infection prevention and safety procedures
• Good observational skills to notice changes in resident condition
• Clear verbal and written communication skills
• Team-oriented mindset and time management on busy units
