Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform scrub duties for cardiac and peripheral procedures, including PCI/STEMI cases
• Assist in all cardiac invasive procedures, excluding structural heart, plus peripheral interventions like carotid, AV grafts, EVAR, and peripheral diagnostics
• Prepare and maintain the Cath Lab environment, equipment, and supplies for each case
• Collaborate with cardiologists, nurses, and the care team to ensure patient safety and positive outcomes
• Monitor patients during procedures and anticipate the needs of the physician
• Utilize Cerner EMR to document procedures and maintain accurate patient records
• Participate in on-call rotation to provide emergent cardiac care coverage

Qualifications

• Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) certification required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum of 2 years of Cath Lab experience required
• Must have scrub experience for PCI/STEMI and be able to scrub cardiac and peripheral cases
• Candidates must not have been directly employed by CommonSpirit/CHI/Dignity within the past year (PRN through outside firms considered)
• No radiology license required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of cardiac and peripheral invasive procedures
• Proficiency with Cerner EMR and documentation
• Ability to anticipate physician needs and respond quickly in emergent situations
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced lab setting
• Skill in sterile technique and scrub protocol
• Understanding of hemodynamic monitoring and Cath Lab equipment
