Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional nursing care to high-risk obstetrical patients during labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery
• Monitor fetal heart rates and maternal vitals using GE fetal monitors, and intervene in emergencies
• Circulate during C-sections and assist with D&C procedures
• Recover high-acuity patients and manage conditions such as preeclampsia and magnesium sulfate therapy
• Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and the healthcare team to ensure safe deliveries
• Educate and support new families through the birthing process and postpartum care

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Texas or compact state (NLC) required
• Minimum of 2 years of high-risk labor and delivery bedside experience
• Intermediate AWHONN fetal monitoring certification required
• Experience circulating in C-sections and recovering high-acuity patients
• BLS certification required
• Ability to float to the antepartum unit as needed

• High-risk obstetric nursing

• Proficiency with GE fetal monitors and Meditech documentation
• Understanding of AWHONN staffing guidelines and patient ratios
