Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain sterile instrumentation and supplies for all OR and endoscopy procedures
• Assist surgeons and the perioperative team during a wide variety of cases, including advanced, neuro and vascular procedures
• Perform instrument counts and ensure proper handling, cleaning and tracking of equipment
• Document perioperative care accurately in the Meditech EMR
• Anticipate surgical team needs and maintain an efficient, safe operating environment
• Respond to on-call requests and provide coverage during holidays as required
• Collaborate with nurses, anesthesia techs and equipment techs to deliver excellent patient care

Qualifications

• CST certification (Certified Surgical Technologist) or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years of relevant OR experience (must-have per hiring profile)
• BLS certification (required)
• Hands-on experience with Meditech or similar EMR (required)
• Preferred: Neuro, ECRP and vascular procedure experience, and exposure to advanced surgical procedures
• Flexible, team-player attitude with strong communication skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of sterile technique, surgical instrumentation and OR workflows
• Experience supporting endoscopy suites and a variety of surgical specialties
• Proficiency with Meditech EMR documentation and perioperative charting
• Familiarity with OR equipment, anesthesia coordination and instrument sterilization processes
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and follow unit policies and guidelines
• Excellent teamwork and patient safety focus
