Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare, sterilize, and manage surgical instrumentation and supplies for Ambulatory and General OR cases
• Assist surgeons and the perioperative team across specialties (orthopedics, ENT, ophthalmology, urology, podiatry, plastics)
• Perform specimen handling and accurate labeling to support lab processing and patient safety
• Support Universal Protocol (time-out) procedures and maintain strict infection control practices
• Set up and operate electrosurgical units and fiber optic light sources/cords safely and effectively
• Perform urinary bladder catheterization and assist with wound management when needed
• Float to the Main OR as required and adapt quickly to different room setups and case types
• Communicate clearly with interdisciplinary team members and unit support (interpretation services, unit secretary) to deliver smooth case flow

Qualifications

• Active CA state license required (pending licenses not accepted)
• Minimum 1 year of OR or Ambulatory OR experience
• BLS preferred
• Familiarity with Epic preferred for charting
• Comfort floating between OR locations and working in a 4-room ambulatory environment
• Ability to follow RTO guidelines (no more than 7 days restriction)

• Infection control and Universal Protocol (time-out) procedure
• Specimen handling and labeling accuracy
• Urinary bladder catheterization and wound management
• Electrosurgical units and fiber optic light sources/cords operation
• Experience in Ambulatory OR and General OR settings
• Familiarity with Laser Safety and Radiation Safety practices
