Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide specialized nursing care to patients on the neuro stepdown unit
• Monitor neurological status, vital signs, and cardiac rhythms
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments as ordered
• Collaborate with physicians and the healthcare team to adjust care plans
• Educate patients and families on neurological conditions and recovery
• Identify changes in patient condition and take immediate appropriate action
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately
• Maintain a safe, compassionate, and supportive environment for patients

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Louisiana
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Previous stepdown, neuro, or ICU experience preferred
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work flexible per diem shifts and adapt to changing unit needs

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of neuro stepdown nursing care and neurological assessments
• Comfort with cardiac monitoring and telemetry
• Proficiency in electronic health record documentation
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple patients in a fast-paced environment
