Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide continuous observation and monitoring of patients to ensure their safety
• Assist with basic patient needs such as repositioning, hydration, and mobility
• Document patient behavior and promptly report changes to nursing staff
• Engage patients in calming activities to reduce anxiety and prevent falls
• Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• BLS certification (American Heart Association) preferred
• Previous experience as a patient sitter, CNA, or in a healthcare setting preferred
• Ability to stay alert and attentive during long shifts
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Compassionate, patient, and reliable

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of patient safety protocols
• Basic vital signs monitoring
• Observation and documentation skills
• Understanding of confidentiality and HIPAA
• Ability to de-escalate agitated patients
• Teamwork and collaboration
