Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor cardiac rhythms and telemetry readings to detect changes in patient status
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered by physicians
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to develop and implement patient care plans
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately
• Respond quickly to cardiac emergencies and provide life-saving interventions
• Educate patients and their families on cardiac health, medications, and follow-up care

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia or compact license
• Current BLS certification from AHA or equivalent
• ACLS certification preferred
• Previous telemetry or acute care nursing experience is a plus
• Strong critical thinking and assessment skills
• Ability to work flexible per diem shifts

Knowledge & Skills

• Cardiac rhythm interpretation and telemetry monitoring
• Patient assessment and vital sign monitoring
• Medication administration and IV therapy
• Electronic health record (EHR) documentation
• Effective communication and teamwork
• Rapid response and emergency care skills
