Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms for patients on telemetry units
• Assess patient conditions and respond promptly to changes in status
• Administer medications and treatments with precision and care
• Collaborate with physicians and the healthcare team to optimize patient outcomes
• Document patient data accurately and maintain thorough medical records
• Educate patients and families on cardiac health and recovery plans

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license in Virginia or a compact state
• BLS certification required (American Heart Association)
• Telemetry or acute care nursing experience preferred
• Ability to interpret and respond to cardiac rhythms confidently
• Strong critical thinking, assessment, and communication skills
• A compassionate, patient-centered approach to care

Knowledge & Skills

• Cardiac rhythm interpretation and EKG monitoring
• Patient assessment and vital sign monitoring
• Medication administration and IV therapy
• Electronic health record (EHR) documentation
• Interdisciplinary collaboration and teamwork
• Clear communication with patients, families, and staff
