Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional nursing care to trauma, orthopedic, and surgical patients in a dynamic 30-bed unit
• Monitor telemetry and cardiac rhythms, acting quickly on any changes in patient status
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and treatments while maintaining a sterile field during invasive procedures
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including surgeons, therapists, and case managers to ensure the best outcomes
• Perform essential skills like Foley catheter insertion, central line dressing changes, and wound care with confidence
• Educate patients and families on post-operative care, discharge planning, and recovery expectations

Qualifications

• Active RN license (Arizona or compact state) with no restrictions
• BLS (AHA) and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of telemetry and acute care experience
• Level 1 Trauma experience strongly preferred
• Must pass a dysrhythmia exam (2 attempts allowed)
• Comfortable with Cerner EMR and maintaining a sterile field
• Must meet facility requirements: natural hair color, no facial piercings, and clean shave for men (for fit test)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation skills
• Proficiency in Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes
• Thorough understanding of sterile field and infection prevention
• Experience with CPAP/BiPAP and ventilator support
• Skilled in wound care and patient education
• Familiarity with Cerner EMR and documentation standards
