Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to a cardiac PCU/IMCU population, including STEMI, NSTEMI and post-CTS patients
• Continuously monitor cardiac status using telemetry and respond promptly to changes
• Administer and titrate IV cardiac drips (Milrinone, Dobutamine) and vasopressors safely and per protocol
• Manage assigned patient loads effectively at the specified 1:3-4 ratio, prioritizing acuity and patient safety
• Perform focused assessments for chest pain and cardiac events and coordinate timely escalation of care
• Maintain accurate, thorough documentation of patient demographics, clinical findings and interventions
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to implement individualized care plans and facilitate smooth transitions
• Support unit operations by assisting with telemetry assignments and maintaining vigilance across varying acuity levels

Qualifications

• Documented PCU experience in your work history—minimum 2 years in a similarly sized facility (explicit requirement)
• Current BLS certification (required)
• Current ACLS certification (required)
• Hands-on experience with cardiac drips: Milrinone, Dobutamine and vasopressors
• Comfort and experience working with telemetry monitoring and cardiac patient populations (STEMI/NSTEMI/CTS/C/P)
• Proven ability to manage patient ratios of approximately 1:3-4 in a PCU/IMCU setting

Knowledge & Skills

• Cardiac monitoring and interpretation of telemetry strips
• Administration and titration of IV vasoactive infusions
• Assessment and management of acute coronary syndromes (STEMI/NSTEMI)
• Care of post-cardiothoracic surgery patients and chest pain assessment
• Effective prioritization and time management in a higher-acuity PCU environment
• Strong communication and teamwork with physicians, advanced practice providers and unit staff
• Accurate and timely clinical documentation and demographic management
