Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess, monitor, and advocate for progressive care patients with complex medical needs
• Administer medications, including non-vesicant chemotherapy after completing required training, and respond quickly to changes in patient status
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create personalized care plans
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and recovery
• Document patient progress and maintain accurate, up-to-date records
• Provide compassionate support to patients and their loved ones during challenging times

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Michigan (or compact license)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• ONS Chemotherapy and Biotherapy certification preferred; must complete unit-based orientation and ONS course if not already certified
• Prior oncology or progressive care experience is a plus
• OCN certification is a nice bonus

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Proficiency in chemotherapy/biotherapy administration safety protocols
• Experience with telemetry monitoring and PCU-level care
• Excellent communication and patient/family education skills
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
• Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced, rewarding environment
