Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care to outpatient cardiology patients following established standards and best practices
• Perform EKG interpretation and monitor for cardiac arrhythmias, escalating concerns to providers as needed
• Administer cardiac medications and assist with cardiac procedures under provider direction
• Coordinate patient care and serve as the primary liaison between patients, staff, and providers
• Educate patients and families about cardiac conditions, medications, and aftercare to support positive outcomes
• Document assessments, interventions, and care plans accurately and timely in the medical record
• Support clinical managers and coordinators in workflow, quality improvement, and patient safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Valid Montana RN licensure (required)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (required)
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• At least 2 years of cardiac nursing experience preferred
• Comfortable with EKG interpretation, cardiac medications, arrhythmias, and basic coronary class knowledge
• Willingness to complete pre-employment screening: criminal background check, drug screen, and health/immunization screening

• Graduate of nursing program

Knowledge & Skills

• Registered nursing and strong patient care fundamentals
• EKG interpretation and recognition of cardiac arrhythmias
• ACLS and BLS skills for cardiac emergency management
• Familiarity with cardiac medications and common cardiac procedures
• Basic coronary class knowledge and medical terminology
• Care coordination and patient liaison/communication skills
• Basic office skills and key boarding/charting abilities
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
