Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional perioperative nursing care to pediatric patients
• Assist the surgical team in the operating room, ensuring a safe and sterile environment
• Prepare operating rooms with all necessary equipment and supplies
• Monitor and advocate for patients during surgical procedures
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve the best outcomes for children
• Educate and support patients and families throughout the surgical journey

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Pennsylvania or compact state
• Current BLS certification; PALS certification preferred
• At least one year of operating room experience, ideally with pediatric patients
• Strong communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure

Knowledge & Skills

• Thorough understanding of surgical instruments, sterile technique, and OR best practices
• Solid grasp of pediatric anatomy, physiology, and medication calculations
• Skilled in patient assessment, monitoring, and EMR documentation
• Ability to anticipate surgical needs and adapt quickly in a dynamic environment
