Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide perioperative nursing care to pediatric patients throughout the surgical journey
• Assist surgical teams during procedures, ensuring a safe and sterile environment
• Monitor patients pre-, intra-, and post-operatively, responding to changes in condition
• Prepare and maintain surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver optimal outcomes
• Document patient care and maintain accurate records in compliance with hospital policies

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio or a compact state
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• PALS certification strongly preferred
• Prior OR nursing experience preferred, especially with pediatric patients
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing schedules and patient needs
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of sterile technique and surgical instrumentation
• Understanding of pediatric anatomy, physiology, and surgical considerations
• Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and documentation
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with children and families
• Ability to handle high-stress situations with composure and compassion
• Teamwork and collaboration within a multidisciplinary environment
