Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled peri-procedural nursing in the Endoscopy/GI lab with strong circulating and scrub responsibilities for advanced procedures like EUS and ERCP
• Collaborate with the procedural team to maintain patient safety, monitor vitals, and manage sedation/airway concerns during cases
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in EPIC to ensure continuity and compliance
• Prepare and maintain sterile fields, instruments, and supplies for endoscopic procedures
• Participate in call rotations and respond promptly to weekday and occasional weekend call assignments
• Support orientation learning objectives and demonstrate competency—orientation includes an open-book skills exam

Qualifications

• Active RN license (must be eligible to work in Nebraska)
• ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Minimum: 2 years of relevant nursing experience (acute care / endoscopy preferred)
• Strong circulating and scrub/tech skills for advanced GI procedures (EUS, ERCP)
• EPIC experience preferred; recent EPIC within 6 months is helpful for smoother orientation
• Willingness to complete orientation requirements and achieve the required competency score (orientation includes an open-book exam with a 90% pass requirement)
• Adherence to facility policies (for example: artificial nails are prohibited in patient care areas)

Education

• Registered Nurse (RN) licensure required
• BSN not required (posting explicitly states BSN Required: No)

Knowledge & Skills

• Proven competency in Endoscopy/GI procedures and instrumentation
• Acute care nursing knowledge and fast, confident clinical decision-making
• Proficient charting and workflow in EPIC
• Strong circulating skills and scrub/tech abilities for advanced endoscopic cases
• Comfort with on-call responsibilities and flexible scheduling
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills in a high-acuity procedural setting
