Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide specialized care to critically ill newborns in the NICU
• Monitor vital signs, administer medications, and adjust treatments per protocols
• Collaborate with neonatologists, nurses, and the healthcare team to develop care plans
• Educate and support families through the NICU journey with compassion
• Document all patient care accurately in Epic
• Use OBix and Voalte systems to coordinate care and communicate effectively

Qualifications

• Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse license in Michigan
• BLS and NRP certifications are required
• Experience with Epic, OBix, Voalte, and Hugs is preferred
• Prior NICU experience is a big plus
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong assessment and critical-thinking skills in high-pressure situations
• Proficiency with electronic health records, especially Epic
• Knowledge of neonatal resuscitation protocols and emergency procedures
• Excellent communication skills with patients, families, and teammates
• Compassionate approach to caring for newborns and their families
• Familiarity with newborn tracking systems like Hugs
