Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to medical-surgical and telemetry patients
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and assess patient conditions
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to create personalized care plans
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans and post-discharge care
• Document patient care accurately and in a timely manner
• Respond quickly to emergencies and changes in patient status
• Act as a clinical resource and mentor for other nursing staff

Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted RN license (Iowa or compact state)
• Current BLS certification
• Current ACLS certification
• TNCC and NIHSS certifications
• Experience in Med/Surg or Telemetry nursing
• Willingness to work night shifts and every other weekend
• Ability to complete facility-specific competency testing and skills checklist

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Proficiency in telemetry monitoring and rhythm interpretation
• Medication administration and IV therapy skills
• Excellent communication and patient education abilities
• Ability to adapt quickly across Med/Surg and Tele units
• Thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment
