Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, family-centered nursing care to pediatric patients on a Med/Surg unit
• Assess, plan, and implement individualized care plans for children with medical and surgical conditions
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments safely and accurately
• Monitor vital signs and recognize subtle changes in patient conditions
• Collaborate with physicians, families, and the care team to coordinate and optimize care
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions
• Maintain a safe, comforting, and developmentally appropriate environment for children

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Ohio or a compact state
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• PALS certification preferred
• Prior pediatric or Med/Surg nursing experience is a plus, but not required
• Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, flexible per diem setting

• Knowledge of pediatric growth and development
• Medication administration and IV therapy skills
• Strong patient assessment and critical thinking abilities
• Electronic health records (EHR) documentation
• Family-centered care principles
• Effective communication and teamwork
