Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care to mothers during labor, delivery, and postpartum
• Monitor fetal heart rates and maternal vital signs to ensure safety
• Assist obstetricians and midwives during deliveries
• Educate new parents on newborn care and breastfeeding
• Document patient progress and collaborate with the healthcare team
• Respond quickly to any complications during childbirth

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Virginia or a compact state
• BLS certification required
• NRP certification preferred
• Experience in labor and delivery preferred
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Fetal monitoring techniques
• Labor support and delivery assistance
• Medication administration and IV therapy
• Patient and family education
• Knowledge of maternal-child health protocols
