Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based labor and delivery care to mothers and newborns
• Continuously monitor fetal status using Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) and intervene per protocol
• Support and circulate for C-sections and assist in operative deliveries when needed
• Perform and assist with internal monitor placement (IUPC, FSE) and use fetal positioning tools when appropriate
• Document patient care accurately and timely in Meditech
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, high-quality outcomes and smooth patient flow
• Educate patients and families about labor progress, procedures, and postpartum care with clarity and empathy

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
• Current ACLS, BLS and NRP certifications
• Demonstrated competency in Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) and SVE
• C-section circulation experience and comfort in operative settings
• Minimum of 2 years of labor & delivery nursing experience preferred (role lists 1+ but 2+ preferred)
• Internal monitor placement competency and experience with high-volume (Level IV) units preferred
• Team-player attitude, positive mindset, and adaptability to rotating schedules

Education

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in EFM interpretation and fetal assessment
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR for documentation and charting
• Experience with Novii, JADA, Fetal Pillow, IUPC, FSE, Toco and ultrasound in L&D settings
• Strong perioperative/c-section circulation skills
• Ability to manage 1:1 to 1:2 patient ratios in a busy unit
• Excellent communication, critical thinking, and crisis management under pressure
