Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, patient-centered Labor and Delivery nursing care on a busy Level IV unit
• Monitor fetal heart tracings and maternal status using EFM and internal monitoring when indicated
• Manage care for SVD, TOLAC, cerclage patients and support C-section circulation
• Respond rapidly to obstetric emergencies and collaborate in multidisciplinary teams
• Document patient assessments and interventions accurately in Meditech
• Educate and support patients and families through labor, delivery and postpartum transitions
• Maintain competency with unit equipment such as Novii, JADA, IUPC, FSE and ultrasound use

Qualifications

• Current RN license (TX preferred or compact RN license where applicable)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications; NRP required
• EFM (electronic fetal monitoring) certification/competency
• SVE competency and demonstrated C-section circulation experience
• Minimum 2+ years of recent Labor and Delivery nursing experience (high-volume/Level IV experience preferred)
• Competent with internal monitor placement and IUPC/FSE use; Meditech EMR experience preferred
• Team-player attitude, strong communication skills, and ability to work alternating weekends

Knowledge & Skills

• Fetal monitoring and EFM interpretation
• Internal monitors: IUPC and FSE placement and troubleshooting
• Novii and JADA fetal monitoring equipment familiarity
• Ultrasound basics relevant to L&D unit care
• Management of SVD, TOLAC, cerclage and C-section patients
• Meditech electronic medical record proficiency
• ACLS, BLS, NRP life support protocols and emergency response
