Roles & Responsibilities

• Complete initial nursing histories and assess patient conditions to develop individualized care plans
• Appropriately triage patients based on presenting symptoms
• Administer medications accurately and monitor for adverse effects
• Assess labor progression and manage induction of labor and cervical ripening
• Handle obstetric emergencies including prolapsed cord, breech delivery, postpartum hemorrhage
• Perform and interpret fetal heart monitoring to ensure fetal well-being
• Assess newborn condition and perform neonatal resuscitation as needed
• Monitor newborns for hypoglycemia, hypothermia, and jaundice, intervening appropriately
• Educate and involve patients in the care of their newborns
• Communicate effectively with the patient's care team and alert providers to changes in patient status

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Active Wisconsin Registered Nurse license required
• Current BLS certification (must obtain within 1 month of hire)
• NRP certification (must obtain within 6 months of hire)
• ALSO certification (must obtain within 1 year of hire)
• STABLE certification (must obtain within 1 year of hire)
• Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification (must obtain within 1 year of hire)
• Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail

Education
