Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist physical therapists in implementing treatment plans to help patients regain mobility and manage pain
• Guide patients through therapeutic exercises and activities tailored to their recovery goals
• Monitor patient progress and adjust techniques in collaboration with the supervising therapist
• Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and injury prevention
• Maintain accurate documentation of treatments and patient responses
• Ensure a safe, supportive environment that fosters patient confidence and independence

Qualifications

• Active Physical Therapist Assistant license in New Mexico or compact eligible
• Graduate of an accredited PTA program
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• At least one year of recent experience as a PTA preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to connect with patients and team members
• Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced rehabilitation setting

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in therapeutic exercise techniques and modalities
• Knowledge of orthopedic, neurologic, and geriatric rehabilitation principles
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Ability to document accurately in electronic medical records
• Compassionate and patient-centered approach
