Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality labor and delivery nursing care, from triage through postpartum
• Monitor maternal and fetal status using advanced fetal monitoring and intervene as needed
• Perform immediate newborn care and neonatal resuscitation when required
• Assist with and support vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, D&C, and cerclage procedures
• Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiology, and neonatal teams to manage high-risk cases
• Maintain accurate documentation in the EMR (Cerner) and communicate changes in patient condition
• Educate and support patients and families through labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery
• Float to specialty areas (MFMU/MOMB/NICU) when needed and adapt to unit policies

Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing (per state requirements)
• Minimum 2+ years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience (required)
• High-risk obstetrics experience
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification (required)
• BLS/ALS certification (required)
• Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification (required)
• Comfortable with circulating experience and perioperative assistance during C-sections
• Familiarity with Cerner EMR and electronic fetal monitoring systems

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical assessment skills for maternal and fetal conditions
• Proficiency in electronic fetal monitoring and interpretation
• Skilled in immediate newborn care and neonatal resuscitation
• Experience with labor interventions, postpartum care, and surgical assists
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced unit and prioritize patient safety
• Excellent communication and teamwork with multidisciplinary teams
• Familiarity with Baxter infusion pumps and unit-specific equipment
