Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-acuity nursing care to ICU patients during 12-hour night shifts, monitoring and responding promptly to changes
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care with clinical confidence
• Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary team members for coordinated care
• Administer medications, manage ventilators, titrate vasoactive drips, and perform advanced clinical interventions safely
• Document care thoroughly in the EHR and deliver clear, effective handoffs at shift change
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and patient safety initiatives to enhance outcomes

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license in California or eligibility to obtain one
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• ICU experience preferred; comfort with ventilators and vasoactive medications
• Strong assessment skills, critical thinking, and ability to prioritize in high-acuity settings
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to patient care

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Mechanical ventilator management and airway care
• Hemodynamic monitoring and titration of vasoactive medications
• Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) documentation
• Ability to manage multiple high-acuity patients and urgent situations
• Team-oriented communication and effective clinical judgment
