Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate care to ICU patients with conditions like DKA, sepsis, respiratory failure, and cardiac rhythm issues
• Monitor and interpret telemetry strips, responding quickly to changes in patient status
• Manage and titrate IV drips common to the ICU, and troubleshoot ventilator and respiratory equipment
• Collaborate with a small, close-knit team in a 4-bed ICU, with a 1:2-3 nurse-to-patient ratio based on acuity
• Coordinate care with the ER charge nurse and float to med-surg or ER when needed for 1:1 patient assignments
• Complete 3 orientation shifts to learn unit workflows and become an integral part of the team

Qualifications

• Active RN license in North Dakota or a compact state
• Minimum 1 year of ICU experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications
• TNCC/TCAR certification or experience caring for trauma patients
• Willingness to comply with facility fit testing and facial hair policy
• BSN not required, but a nursing degree is necessary

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong ventilator management skills, from nasal cannula to advanced respiratory support
• Skill in telemetry interpretation and rhythm recognition
• Ability to titrate and manage ICU drips with confidence
• Trauma patient care experience, including recognizing and responding to unsafe situations
• Proficiency with MEDITECH electronic health records
• Excellent teamwork, coachability, and clear communication
