Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor critically ill patients in the ICU with skill and compassion
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and titrated drips safely and accurately
• Operate and troubleshoot critical care equipment including ventilators and monitors
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and multidisciplinary team members to drive excellent patient outcomes
• Provide clear, timely documentation and handoffs to ensure continuity of care
• Respond rapidly to code situations and escalate concerns when patient status changes
• Support and educate patients and their families through complex care decisions

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license appropriate for practice in North Carolina
• Minimum 2+ years of recent ICU experience (explicit requirement)
• Current BLS certification; ACLS strongly preferred or required by facility
• Comfort with ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, and vasoactive drips
• Excellent critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills

Education

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program (ADN/BSN) required

Knowledge & Skills

• Advanced knowledge of critical care nursing principles
• Skill managing mechanical ventilation and advanced airway support
• Proficiency with cardiac monitoring and interpreting hemodynamic data
• Strong medication administration and IV pump management skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
