Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care to critically ill patients in the ICU
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, recognizing subtle changes and responding swiftly
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and life-saving interventions with precision
• Operate and manage advanced equipment such as ventilators, monitors, and infusion pumps
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and specialists to deliver coordinated, evidence-based care
• Educate and support patients and families through complex and challenging health crises
• Document patient progress and maintain accurate, up-to-date medical records

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Iowa or a compact state license (NLC) accepted
• Current BLS, ACLS, TNCC, and NIHSS certifications required
• ICU or critical care experience strongly preferred, but passionate new graduates are encouraged to apply
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts, including every other weekend and holidays
• Must pass required competency testing, skills checklist, and background screening

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Knowledge of advanced cardiac life support and trauma nursing
• Proficiency in hemodynamic monitoring and ventilator management
• Excellent communication and teamwork in high-pressure situations
• Familiarity with electronic health records and documentation
