Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage patients presenting to the emergency department quickly and accurately
• Deliver patient-centered care including medication administration, wound care, and monitoring
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to develop and update care plans
• Stabilize emergent conditions and perform critical interventions with confidence
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses thoroughly and timely
• Educate patients and families about diagnosis, treatment plans, and follow-up care
• Participate in department quality and safety initiatives to continuously improve care

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license for the state of California (or compact licensure where applicable)
• Emergency Department experience preferred; per-diem clinicians welcomed
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced setting
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with the ED team

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in emergency nursing assessments and triage principles
• Skilled in IV therapy, medication administration, and wound management
• Comfortable with high-acuity patients and rapid decision-making
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate clinical documentation
• Ability to manage multiple patients while maintaining attention to detail
• Calm under pressure with strong critical thinking and situational awareness
