Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert, compassionate care to immediate post-operative cardiac surgery patients in a 16-bed CVICU
• Monitor and interpret hemodynamic data from PA catheters and telemetry to guide clinical decisions
• Manage mechanical circulatory support devices (IABP, Impella, CentriMag, HM3 LVAD, ECMO) safely and effectively
• Perform and assist with critical ICU procedures such as central line care, Swan placement, and intubation
• Collaborate with surgeons, intensivists, and the multidisciplinary team to deliver coordinated patient care 24/7
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently using Meditech
• Champion patient safety, advocate for families, and contribute to a strong culture of teamwork

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) with active licensure (RN) — title indicates RN role
• Minimum 2 years of critical care experience; CVICU experience strongly preferred (per job posting)
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications (required)
• Demonstrated competency with PA catheter insertion/management and hemodynamic monitoring
• Experience with IABP, Impella, CRRT, ECMO, and LVADs preferred
• Comfort performing ICU procedures (central line care, Swan, intubation) and working with advanced cardiac device patients
• Willingness to work rotating 12-hour day shifts, weekends, and holiday rotations

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong critical care nursing skills and post-operative cardiac surgery care
• Proficiency with hemodynamic monitoring and PA catheter interpretation
• Familiarity with mechanical circulatory support devices and telemetry monitoring
• Experience using Meditech for clinical documentation
• Skilled with Phillips bedside telemetry and Alaris IV pump systems
• Ability to work in high-acuity settings with 1:2 or 1:1 patient ratios as needed
