Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures alongside the cardiology team
• Monitor and assess patient hemodynamic status, vitals, and rhythm continuously during procedures
• Administer conscious sedation and medications as ordered, ensuring patient safety and comfort
• Prepare and maintain sterile equipment, lab supplies, and the procedural environment
• Provide thorough post-procedure care and patient/family education
• Document accurately and collaborate with multidisciplinary team members
• Respond quickly to emergencies and code situations in the lab

Qualifications

• Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Iowa
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Previous Cath Lab or critical care experience preferred
• Strong understanding of cardiac anatomy, hemodynamics, and procedures
• Ability to participate in on-call rotation and work every third weekend

• Intravenous therapy and medication administration
• Patient assessment and critical thinking
