Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform thorough dental cleanings and prophylaxis to keep patients' smiles healthy
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care
• Take and develop dental x-rays with precision and care
• Document patient treatments, noting any concerns for the dentist
• Assist the dentist during procedures and ensure a comfortable experience for patients
• Sterilize dental instruments and maintain a clean, organized operatory

Qualifications

• Active and current Virginia Dental Hygienist license - a must!
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Excellent patient communication and chairside manner
• Experience with periodontal therapy and scaling/root planing is a big plus
• A passion for delivering top-notch dental care

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in dental charting and software systems
• Strong understanding of infection control protocols and OSHA standards
• Ability to work collaboratively with a friendly dental team
• Attention to detail and steady hands for precision procedures
• Great at putting patients at ease, even the nervous ones
